Lenten Reflections 2018

Sharing Our Lenten Reflections

For centuries during Lent Christians have observed with great devotion the days of our Lord’s passion and resurrection. It became the custom of the Church to encourage preparation for this season through penitence and fasting. This tradition continues even today as we are reminded of the need to review our faith—by self-examination, reading, and meditating on God’s Word.

During this year of parish discernment, we invite members of St. James’ to help us review our faith by sharing their experiences of hearing God’s voice, whether directly or indirectly. Reflections might include:

  • How did God speak to you?
  • What was your response?
  • How did it affect your faith or change your life?

Submissions may include your own original writing, poetry, photos or other creative expressions that can be shared via email. Please limit written pieces to 200 words, and share no more than two photos.

Reflections will be emailed to the congregation each weekday of Lent, beginning on Thursday, February 15 through Maundy Thursday, March 29.

Sign Up Here to Offer Lenten Reflections.
Note: You do not need to create an account to sign up. Office staff can do the online sign-up for you if you prefer. Submissions are due one week in advance, beginning February 7. Earlier is fine too!
