Seasonal Affective Disorder

Hello Stronger Together friends,

Do you tend to get down and less energetic as the shorter days of winter approach? This Thursday at 7 p.m. we will discuss Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD). We’ll watch one of the following videos together and talk about our reflections.

Warmup question: When you are having a bad day what is the best thing you can do to cheer yourself up?

Prescribing Happiness

Hello good people of God.

Tomorrow evening, we will join together for another session of Stronger Together.

The opening ice-breaker question that we will discuss is, “What is a song that makes you feel like dancing?”

We will then discuss this short article and its implications for our well-being, society’s well-being, and what we are about at church with the Mental Health Ministries:
Prescribing Happiness.

Remember: God loves you and we love you, and we will be delighted to see you tomorrow.  You are not alone; we are stronger together.

In Christ,

James

Another Walk for Mental Health!

Another Walk for Mental Health!

On January 14, St. James’ parishioners again gathered their supportive furry companions and kids and anyone else who wanted to come along for a walk on the C & O Canal towpath. We explored Carderock South this time. It was a cold windy day, but the ducks were swimming and the dogs were moving along at a good clip. Join us for our next walk on February 11! Watch your email and our events calendar for information.
